About the PAC
The President's Advisory Council was established at the conception of
Concepts of Freedom Ministries, Inc. in 1994. Early in the days of the ministry
the Holy Spirit reminded Drs. Church that they could only oversee such a
enormous ministry is they followed the biblical directives of counsellors.
They were brought to two particular passages in the book of Proverbs - Chapter
11 verse 14 and Chapter 15 verse 22.
Drs. Church took the directives to heart and have listened to those who
God has sent to be a part of Concepts of Freedom Ministries. Yes, they are
sensitive to the fact that they are commissioned to hear from the Lord and
are to follow His commands, but they also realize that they are human and
that sometimes humans make mistakes. Because of this, with the help of the
Lord and His direction, they have established a small group of trusted men
and women who carry the awesome responsibility of "getting it right."
Position of PAC Members
Members of the PAC, along with members of the Executive
Board are considered the inner circle of Concepts of Freedom Ministries,
the mother organization of Freedom Bible College and Seminary, Joel Philip
Church Ministries, the International Commission on Academic Accreditation,
Inc., Freedom Prison Ministries, Freedom Christian Ministries Association
and other outreaches.
Members of the PAC are given the private phone number of the president(s)
and realize an open-door relationship with the president(s).
How are members of the PAC selected?
Members are not selected by the will and desire of Drs. Church, they are
selected ONLY under the direction of the Holy Spirit. It is considered poor
etiquette for a person to volunteer as a member of the PAC.
How many people are currently members of the PAC?
The exact number of members, as well as their names, is confidential because
the enemy is always looking for ways to hinder or even destroy the work
of the Lord. Therefore, the less information we publish about the members,
the better it is. We can say that is is possible that a person in your church,
ministry or organization is a member of the PAC.
Members of the PAC and their vocations are across-the-board by design.
God laid out the program where we would have engineers, educators, attorneys,
medical personnel, pastors, deacons, realtors, drivers, sales people, builders,
designers, artists and the list continues. These are people who are "on
call" as expertise is needed in their specific areas.
Voting privileges of the PAC
Members of the PAC are, as the name suggests, an advisory council and
shall not have legal voting rights outside the ranks of the PAC. One member
of the PAC shall be selected by the president(s) to act as chairperson.
Salaries or payment of members of the PAC
Members of the PAC are volunteers and shall not be paid any payment or
salary for their duties. They shall, however, be reimbursed for travel expense
if travel is mandated by the president(s) or the PAC.
Terms of Membership
Terms of membership to the PAC is lifetime. Members may resign at any
time and may be removed for reasons of health or spiritual conduct. Membership
is by invitation only.
Members may be removed by the president(s) for any reason that they feel
is justified by the Word of God.
The "Pack and the "PAC"
The PAC has some characteristics of the pack but also many
differences. The primary mission of the pack and the PAC
is to survive and to stand together when under attack. A member of the pack
will not abandon the others. The same is true with the PAC. They
protect each other as well as the president(s). They are willing to fight
if necessary to insure survival. The primary difference between the
pack and the PAC is that the pack goes about
seeking to devour as the "roaring lion" of 1 Peter 5:8. The PAC
goes about bringing forth healing, health and safety to others. To the pack,
communication is an important topic. Their language has a variety of sounds
such as yips, yelps, whines, howls, growls, and barks. It is also one
of posture, facial expression, and tail positions. Their howl is one
of the most important. It carries over large distances and can be used to
help locate pack members, establish the boundaries of its territory, as
well as strengthen group unity. The PAC also depends upon communication
with each other. Communication is the key to the accomplishment of clear-cut
objectives. Members of the PAC go to extra lengths to communicate
important issues, concerns and advancements to the president(s).
Members of the pack do not fight unless it is totally necessary.
Often, they will go out of their way to avoid fighting. Disagreements
within the pack rarely end in fighting. Many times a look or low
growl in warning is all that is needed to avoid conflict. Members of the
PAC strive to avoid fights and unnecessary confrontations. There
are many times that a "growl" is all it takes to avoid fights. There are those
friends of the enemy who are experts in bringing war and love to kindle the
coals until they bring new flames.
A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up
anger. Proverbs 15:1
Who are the members of the pack?
Members of the PAC are from a variety of Christian denominational backgrounds.
The name of the denomination is not a concern when it comes to choosing members.
As long as they accept the PAC Statement of Faith
they are eligible for membership. Also, they may be from the clergy or laity
of the Christian world. They may be pastors, deacons, elders or simply church
members.
Guidelines that PAC members live by
There are no better guidelines that those already laid out in the Word
of God. Because of this the guidelines for PAC members shall be those laid
out for the bishop in 1 Timothy 3:1-7.
(1) This is a true
saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work. (2) A bishop then must be blameless,
the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behaviour, given to hospitality,
apt to teach; (3) Not given
to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler,
not covetous; (4) One that
ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity;
(5) (For if a man know not
how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)
(6) Not a novice, lest being
lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil. (7) Moreover he must have a good report
of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the
devil.
In addition to the above Scriptural passage, members of the PAC are
expected to be loyal to the president(s) at all times. They are expected to
include the president(s) in their daily prayers and they are to remain amenable
to the president(s) at all times.
Brainstorming
At CFM brainstorming is an important part of future planning. Members
of the PAC are welcomed and encouraged to brainstorm with other members to
come up with solutions and answers to problems and advancements in areas
of new ideas of methods.
Recognition
Members of the PAC shall be free to use the PAC logo on their personal
resumes and vitae.
Members of the PAC will be awarded a President's Advisory Council
certificate.
Special Duties of the PAC
In the event of the untimely or unexpected passing of both co-presidents
the PAC shall have the responsibility of advising the Executive Board of
Concepts of Freedom Ministries in the election of an acting president until
such a time that a permanent one shall be found. In this event, the acting
president shall be a member of the current president's immediate or extended
family. If there is not a family member willing or available to take that
position it shall select one from the members of the PAC. A permanent president
shall be installed by the members of the Executive Board of Concepts of Freedom
Ministries.
